History of  Almuñécar:

Almuñécar Costa Tropical was founded by the Phoenicians around 3000 years ago, to be followed by virtually all seafarers in the Mediterranean (Greeks, Romans, Moors). Because of this bustling past, there are still many architectural „leftovers“ of the explorers. The Alcazaba (Castillo de San Miguel) was founded by the Moors in 1489 and expanded after their expulsion by the Christians. The Romans left around Almuñécar numerous aqueducts.

Almuñécar today:

Almuñécar offers many opportunities to shop in the manicured streets of the old town. Many shaded areas invite you to relax under palm trees. Away from mass tourism you discover the original Andalusia. For your entertainment there are a botanic garden, an aquarium, a water parc etc..  And on the Indoor market, you can buy the freshest fish, prawns and different meat and vegetables from other producers. In Almuñécar on the Costa Tropical in Andalusia you find all you need – from several supermarkets, an international school and various german and english spoken doctors. And do not miss the International Jazz Festival in July. Have a look around: Almunecar on Youtube

All of the coastal villages in the province of Granada have their own very different beaches. Only a quarter of an hour from the finca there are plenty of pretty beaches, some are surrounded by rocks, where small bars serve drinks and tapas, paellas & fried fish.

The next golf course, “Los Mariscos” right next to the beach. Fantastic place!

The Costa Tropical:

Almuñécar Costa Tropical is one of the largest areas for growing tropical fruits in Europe . The peculiarities of the microclimate gave the coastline of the province of Granada his name . Due to the Granada climate with prevailing dry summers and cold winters, mangoes, sugar cane , avocados and custard apples native to Central and South America thrive in our region. And for those who are looking for a contrast , the Sierra Nevada (1,5 hours by car) at over 3000 m in height offers a wide variety of winter sports at very attractive ski resort.
